This morning I will be talking about Walking the Talk in Love I

want to start off by asking, what are some of the features we see in a persons life, when their living in an intimate relationship with God?

I think we all know:

Galatians 5

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

  1. We all understand the importance of this passage. (Matthew 7:16 says we will be know by our fruit)
  2. But the point I want to make in this is… a. The fruit of the spirit is ultimately be traced to one thing

Turn with me to:

1 Corinthians 13

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Would you turn you bibles to:

1 John 2

3We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. 4The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But if anyone obeys his word, God's love[b] is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

Concussion:

  1. We love others, by letting God’s love show through us. (Repeat)

    God is not just good at showing love, He is love!

  2. The same concept applies to a letter. (Explain as Story)
  3. Closing: Are you living in an intimate relationship with God, are you walking in the light as he is in the light, to let God’s Love Shine through you?
